Towards the end of my crazy week, I had signed up to volunteer at the annual International Christmas Market in the capital. Despite getting to bed late, I still had to roll myself out of bed far too early and made my way to the train station. Cassie and Kyle picked me up and, after a brief convenience store run, we got to the college where the market takes place and started to set up. MAJET sold homemade cookies to cover the price of our free “gingerbread” house station. Gingerbread is pretty hard to get our hands on, so we used crackers instead. The kids did not seem to mind, (since they had no idea what they were missing). Some of our volunteers also dressed up as Santa or Santarina and handed out candy.
